Hello Mr Manatee! |
When I finished my last blog, we were anxiously awaiting
Jambalaya night. Bill and Patty made the
most excellent Jambalaya for everyone here at the dock. Of course everyone brought sides/desserts and
we had way more food than we’d ever eat.
That seems to always be the case.
Thanks to Bill and Patty (Conched Out Too)! Everyone really enjoyed it!
The weekend was the Nautical Flea Market in Islamorada. This is a huge sale. In fact, it is touted as the “Gigantic Flea
Market”. It’s not to be missed – there is
something there for everyone. Just about
everyone here at the dock went. The
weather cooperated and it was a perfect day.
We came home with bags full!
Oh and then of course, we couldn’t pass up Margarita Monday!
We’d seen on the internet (it doesn’t
lie) that Monday, February 22 was National Margarita Day. We couldn’t pass that up! We gathered at the dock at Happy Hour and did
our best to celebrate. It was Cindy’s
birthday, so some of us celebrated a little more than others! But that all I’m going to say about that…… What happens in Marathon stays in Marathon…..
Thanks to Ricky, we had another great gathering on the dock last Saturday. He cooked beef brisket for all of us. Yep, another great evening on the dock.
Several boats have left the past few days. Finally, Sassy II, and Joint Venture left
Monday, February 29 heading to Ft Myers to spend some time before they head
back home. Second Noelle and Septembre
left Tuesday, March 1. They’re taking
their time going home as well. Septembre
is going back to Canada! We wish them
all well and safe travels.
The weather seems to be turning around finally. It’s been sunny and in the high 70s – low 80s
the past few days. It’s about time! El Nino had played havoc on our boating fun
here in the Keys this winter. However,
the last few days, the sunsets have been beautiful!
We’re staying here until around the first of April. Hopefully now we’ll get to enjoy the Keys
like they should be enjoyed – by dinghy!
Well, this is rather a short blog. I wanted to get caught up before our friends
from Joplin get here. Bill and Pam
Kelley are heading this way and should be here tomorrow (March 3). They’re spending a couple of weeks here in a
conch house duplex. Can’t wait till they
get here! I see several trips to Key
West and many other fun things in our future.
Stay tuned!
Till next time!
